about

The release of the album «Pause» dates just a few weeks back and District Five already drop the previously unreleased song «Wasted». With a clear conscience it can be called the poppiest song in District Five’s history. With this song, the band’s jazzy origins could be guessed at best. Trippy, vibing, and yet concrete. Unmistakable dry drum sounds, bubbly bass and singing guitars. New is the congenial vocal duet Vojko Huter and Tapiwa Svosve, whose voices complement each other perfectly.

District Five break through generational boundaries. Math-rock, post punk, jazz, electronica, film music: those are corner stones of a new sound through which the four visionaries from Zurich are permanently leaving gridlocked genres behind and begin to build their own avantgarde.
This music is a process of finding new liberties and at the same time it sets an example for diversity as well as long-lasting friendship.

lyrics

You dont need to spell it out for me
I know

You dont need to explain yourself
Stumbling over your own trap

Imagining what itI’d be like
Dancing till the morning comes

Cure that humans need to survive
Stumbling over their own traps

A shiny grave to good old days
Dancing till the morning comes - again
